Marchman to head Judiciary Commission posted Thursday, November 1st, 2012 @ 12:00 pm  E-mail Story |  Print Story  Fourth Judicial District Court Judge Sharon Marchman will chair the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana, the Louisiana Supreme Court announced last week. Marchman had been serving as vice-chairman of the commission, which oversees rules and policy for the state's district court system. She was elected chairman and will succeed Judge Bill W. Hall. Marchman was first elected to the 4th Judicial District Court in 2000. Previously, she was a senior partner in the Monroe law firm of Theus, Grisham, Davis and Leigh. She received her law degree in 1985 from LSU. Marchman presides over the 4th Judicial District juvenile court and the adult drug and DWI courts in Ouachita and Morehouse parishes. A pilot juvenile drug court Marchman established was designated a MacArthur Foundation Model for Change site. Nineteenth Judicial District Court Judge Antony J.
