The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office is seeking information regarding the whereabouts of a man wanted on suspicion of murder.

Investigators believe Luis Alberto Valenzuela, 30, shot and killed a man outside of a residence on McKeithan Street in West Monroe.

OPSO Chief Deputy Marc Mashaw said investigators are working multiple leads.
"We are still actively pursuing him," Mashaw said. "We have not caught him yet."
The shooting occurred Oct. 7. Deputies arrived on the scene where they discovered a single victim with a gunshot wound. The victim died of those injuries.

OPSO Maj. Jason Pleasant said authorities have not released the identity of the victim, a Hispanic male, pending the notification of next of kin.

No motive for the killing was given.

Valenzuela is described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot 8-inches in height and weighing approximately 155 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office at (318) 329-1200.

A warrant has been issued for one count of second degree murder and one count of aggravated assault with a gun. Bond was set at $1.05 million.
