CelticFest draws record crowds to Kiroli Park

The 8th Annual Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival drew record crowds to Kiroli Park, according to park officials.

More than 3,000 people braved chilly weather and overcast skies to take in the sights, sounds and musical acts from around the world.

West Monroe parks and recreation director Doug Seegers called the festival a resounding success and said the Kiroli gate count for Saturday topped 3,300.

"It's the largest in recent history," Seegers said. "There were a lot of folks out here."
West Monroe Mayor Dave Norris said he's heard good things from attendees.

"All the comments I got from visitors to the festival were positive," said Norris.
Norris said the weather didn't seem to put a damper on attendance.
