Death investigation ongoing

An investigation is under way to determine the cause of death of a prominent Monroe attorney.

Charles Trascher III was reported missing Thursday while fishing on the Ouachita River. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries retrieved his body from the river late Friday. Autopsy results are pending, according to the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

"It's being handled as a boating accident," said LDWF Capt. Alan Banks.
Because the accident occurred on the Ouachita River, Wildlife and Fisheries is conducting the investigation.
