Highland Garden Club meets

The Highland Garden Club of West Monroe had a patriotic picnic at the home of Rita Moore for its September meeting.

Hostesses for the event were Carol Tubb, Abuna Moore, Micky Kiper and Moore. A patriotic theme was used to decorate throughout the home and gardens.

"The Star Spangled Banner" was playing outside as everyone arrived. Flags and republican banners were displayed around the driveway and in the flower beds. Red, white and blue flowers including red geraniums, spider lilies, bleeding hearts, and mums were used on the tables with American flags and patriotic placemats.
