ULM President Nick Bruno credited the university's recruiters with much of the success in bringing new students to the campus. Some 1,300 new freshmen enrolled for the fall semester, ULM announced Tuesday. That's a major achievement, Bruno said, because all of northeastern Louisiana only produced about 1,200 high school graduates this year who met the qualifications to apply at ULM. "When only 1,200 students meet admissions criteria and you need a class of 1,100 just to replace graduating seniors, you have to expand your recruiting base," Bruno said. .....
