Rebels earn revenge by swarming Yellow Jackets If you are a West Monroe Rebel fan, this past weekend was a case of good news and bad news.
The good news was the dominating 38-14 victory over the Byrd Yellow Jackets that defending Class 5A champions displayed in their regular season opener at Rebel Stadium on Saturday.
Even more good news for the Rebel faithful was that Ouachita transfer Cameron Robinson was declared eligible to play for West Monroe this season.
Now for the bad news. Unfortunately, the whole Robinson's eligibilty issue had a price tag in a $1,000 fine to West Monroe High School, a two game suspension for Hall of Fame coach Don Shows, a year long suspension of assistant coach Bakari Guice and the required attendance of principal Sherri May and Shows to a LHSAA handbook clinic in the upcoming year. For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
