Hot dogs, apple pie and pick-up trucks
 There was just something about the atmosphere in yesteryear's baseball games. On many Sunday afternoons in the summer, you could find baseball games in Crowville, Mangham, Winnsboro and other small towns in the Northeast Louisiana area.
Mangham had a young man who was a pitcher. He had only one arm, but it did not slow him down. He was a marvel to watch.
He would pitch the ball with his glove placed under the armpit of his short arm, then he quickly switched the glove to his throwing hand. I wish I could remember his name. I am sure someone who reads this article will remember this young man. He was the Jim Abbott of his day.
