Grambling Update - Port City Classic will Remain on Saturday
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
City of Shreveport and Grambling State University Athletic Officials have been and will be in constant contact with the National Weather Service in Shreveport to monitor the weather for the upcoming Port City Classic.

The game is still scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. at Shreveport's Independence Stadium. Meteorologists have forecasted that the weather system currently in our area should be well north of Shreveport by Saturday and should not pose any threat to the Port City Classic festivities.

In the event that the weather system does make an impact on Shreveport, officials have stated that the contingency plan is to play the game Sunday at 5 p.m. As of now it is not expected that the game will be moved as the National Weather Service continues to predict the storm will be completely out of the area by game-time Saturday.

Kick-off of the 2012 Port City Classic featuring the Grambling State University Tigers and the Alcorn State University Braves is slated for Saturday at 6 p.m. at Independence Stadium. Tickets will be on sale starting at 10 a.m. at the stadium.
