WEST MONROE EAST TEAM RECIEVES SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD FOR STATE TOURNAMENT by Jimmy Touchet - posted Thursday, August 2nd, 2012 @ 3:06 pm  E-mail Story |  Print Story  The West Monroe East Dixie All-star team (Pitching Machine: 7 & 8-year olds) had a great run toward the pitching machine World Series. In the Sub-District Tournament held at East Ouachita Recreation District's Swartz Dixie Complex, the West Monroe – East team finished in 3rd place out of 16 teams. As the host team for the District Tournament, West Monroe – East finished as the district runner up out of 22 teams. In the state tournament held in Pineville, West Monroe – East placed in the top 8 teams in the state of Louisiana. The highlight of the state tournament was the team receiving the Sportmanship Award for the State Tournament. The West Monroe-East All-Star team roster includes Addison McConathy, Braxton Clark, Aiden Warner, Colin Rowe, Kaiden Griffin, Blayne Burford, Kaidan Clark, Matthew Lebato, Matthew Purvis, Roman McConathy, Tag Banks, John Michael Treno and Nicholas Thompson. The coaches for the West Mornoe – East team were Tommy Banks, Chad Burford, Ryan Rowe and Greg Futch.
