Sun Belt picks ULM 6th in pre-season poll by ULM - posted Thursday, July 19th, 2012 @ 12:00 pm  E-mail Story |  Print Story  The Sun Belt Conference preseason poll released today has ULM tabbed to finish sixth in the 10-team league. FIU was chosen as the preseason favorite with 92 points and five first-place votes. Also receiving firstplace votes were Arkansas State (2), UL-Lafayette (2) and Western Kentucky (1). Troy followed WKU to round out the top five and finishing behind ULM were Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Florida Atlantic and South Alabama. The Warhawks begin their schedule with two SEC opponents — at Arkansas on Sept. 8 and at Auburn on Sept. 15 — with both start times still to be announced. The Warhawks will play their home opener against Big XII member, Baylor on Sept. 21. Currently, ULM will have three games televised (Baylor at ULM - ESPN, ULM at Tulane - CST and ULM at Arkansas State - ESPNU). ULM head coach Todd Berry, in his third season at the helm of the Warhawks, is optimistic about the overall team chemistry that he has seen from his team entering into the 2012 season.
