We have gathered information from some of the state's top recruiting experts at www.louisianaprepinsider.com, www.dandydon.com and www.pelicanpreps.com and come up with a list of the "Blue Chippers" for our state and parish that are sure to be high on every college coach's wish list come next year. The series will continue each week leading up to the 2012 Football Preview, which will be released and distributed the week of the opening Jamborees. Next week, we will focus on the top returning defensive backs in the state and parish for 2013. One the greatest weapons in an offensive coach's armory is the receiver. In the game of football, offensive and defensive strategies vary according to the opposing sides alignment. On the defensive side, the strategy is to cover each potential ball carrier and to minimize the possibility for the offense to gain positive yards. For the offense, the strategy is to create space to give the ball carrier room to gain positive yardage. Receivers are vital to spreading the defense away from the line scrimmage by moving the defensive secondary away from the line of scrimmage. In breaking down the receiver position, it is important to realize that there are two different receiver positions that require separate, totally different skill sets. These positions are wide receivers and tight ends.
