Walsworth looks to fix program

Sen. Mike Walsworth says legislators may need to head to Baton Rouge to correct problems connected to a vehicle tax credit program.

Without a special session, according to Walsworth, the state could be left holding the bag for hundreds of millions of dollars.

"The exposure is still there," said Walsworth, R-West Monroe. "The governor did make his change in the emergency rule, but the legislation didn't change. And only the legislature can make that change. I think the sooner the better, because every day the exposure grows."
