Miss Louisiana pageant delivers for Ouachita

Newly crowned Miss Louisiana Lauren Vizza may be in for an exciting reign in coming months, but the big winners of the Miss Louisiana Pageant may be local businesses.



While no formal economic impact study has been completed, officials with the Miss Louisiana Organization estimate the "the big show" generates as much as $1 million for the local economy, according to pageant Executive Vice President Darris Waren.



"It's huge," Waren said.



Waren said that upwards of 1,000 people descend on the Monroe area for the pageant.
