River Styx developer responds to critics

The contractor developing a 16-acre tract in northeastern Ouachita Parish says the subdivision he wants to build is ready to move forward after meeting with Ouachita Parish Police Jury officials.

Michael Sampognaro's River Styx Subdivision development would result in the construction of 71 garden-style homes off Lennon Camp Road near Horseshoe Lake north of Monroe.

Lennon Camp Road residents raised concerns about the impact new houses would have on their properties and on the traffic count along their road.
Sampognaro said he met with Police Jury representatives to answer their concerns.

"They had a few questions and concerns about the drainage," Sampognaro said. "I think we have a plan to submit that will be satisfactory."
