Dixie Youth All-Star teams - All-Star season kicks off this weekend at EORD by Jimmy Touchet - posted Thursday, June 21st, 2012 @ 12:00 pm  E-mail Story |  Print Story  All Star Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball seasons kick off in the coming weeks with the beginning of sub-district and district tournaments. The West Monroe Dixie Youth and Monroe Dixie Youth leagues are putting the final touches on their rosters for the various age divisions that will represent the leagues in the 2012 All-Star Season. The All-Star season for each league varies according to age group. Some age groups will compete in sub-district tournaments before heading to the district tournament later in the month. Regional and state tournaments will follow later in the summer. The dates and location of the tournaments vary according to the age group of participants. The 7-8 year divisions are scheduled for their sub-district tournament on June 21st and will be hosted by the East Ouachita Recreation district (EORD). The leagues - divisions participating in the 7/8 – year old sub-district tournaments are West Monroe South, West Monroe East, West Monroe North, Calhoun A and Calhoun B. West Monroe will host the district tournament for the 7-8 year old divisions June 28 followed by the State tournament July 5-8 in Pineville. Representing the West Monroe South Division (7-8 year old) will be Christavian Smith, D.J. Hill, Bayden Frye, Luke Hall, Tag Yarborough, Christian Wheelis, Garrison Dixon, Seth Deloch, Tripp Guillory, Will Morris, Jackson Greene and Dakota Wise. Jason Hall will coach the West Monroe South team.
