They will receive their so-called 13th checks this week. Ouachita Parish Schools Business Manager Juanita Duke says the checks would be issue today (Thursday). The checks were funded through the school system's share of a parish-wide sales tax. The parish school system shares the revenues with Monroe City Schools.
