Story Archives: Citizen unveils makeover

Citizen unveils makeover
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
You might notice a little something different about this week's edition of The Ouachita Citizen.

We're proud to introduce to our readers an all-new, state-of-the-art design. Take a minute to browse through the paper and we're sure you'll be as excited about it as we are. We were careful to make sure that this newspaper included the same columnists and news you've come to rely on from The Citizen, and we've tried to make it easier to find what you're looking for.

Our goal was to provide readers with a single-glance look at as much of the week's offerings, on Page 1, without overwhelming readers with busy tables of content or type that's too small to read.

That starts at the top of the page with the skybox, which features a highlighted story from our award-winning Opinions or Commentary pages. Also, at the far right of the skybox, we offer readers a glimpse of what's happening in the Sports world.

Another major component of the new Citizen is the addition of the "Inside..." section along the lefthand margin of this page. This area provides the reader with an in-brief look at what they will find inside each week's edition of The Citizen, from News to Tempo to Sports.

We've redesigned the entire paper with an eye to readability. Without sacrificing valuable column inches to empty space, larger headlines and an inviting, more readable typeface mean readers won't strain their eyes. Most importantly, we have not sacrificed one word of news, commentary or sports coverage to the redesign.
Take a look and then let us know what you think. We're sure you'll love this all new Ouachita Citizen.
