The West Monroe Board of Aldermen is expected to approve an agreement Tuesday night to pave the way for retail development near Ike Hamilton Expo Center off Interstate 20.

Aldermen are schedule to sign off on the agreement with The Herring Group at their regular meeting. The pre council meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at West Monroe City Hall. The regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen begins at 7 p.m.

Tuesday afternoon, Mayor Dave Norris said aldermen would approve the agreement with the Herring Group to spearhead the development of the property between the Ike and I-20, which is considered the most prized retail site in western Ouachita Parish.

The Herring Group was responsible for the development of Pecanland Mall in the 1980s.
