Lawmakers ready for session
The regular legislative session convenes Monday at noon, and Ouachita Parish lawmakers say they've been studying Gov. Bobby Jindal's proposals and look forward to getting down to work on them.
Three of the six lawmakers from Ouachita Parish will experience their first legislative session. Those three are Reps. Jay Morris, Katrina Jackson and Marcus
Hunter. Morris is a Republican who represents a House district based in north Monroe. Jackson and Hunter are Democrats who represent majority minority districts based in eastern and southern Monroe.
