Dardenne unveils Bicentennial curriculum

Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne is hopeful a new curriculum developed by his staff will spark a renewed interest in Louisiana and her culture.

Dardenne was on hand at Lee Junior High School in Monroe Wednesday as part of a whistle-stop tour of schools around the state to tout his plans for involving school kids in the state's upcoming Bicentennial celebrations.

"When I was elected we felt very strongly there should be an educational component to the state Bicentennial," said Dardenne, a Republican.
