Counselor's Corner: Preparing for testing By Nancy Blanchard Special to The Citizen
If you have a student in Ouachita Parish, chances are you are hearing lots of talk about TESTING. Some students and parents see it as something to dread, but if your children have been participating in classwork and homework throughout the year, it will not be unpleasant for them.
There are things you can do at home to be sure your child has a grip on the skills needed to do well on the test. If you have a computer with internet access at home, you can go to the Louisiana Department of Education website at www.doe.state.la.us/testing/help/ for some practice and review. You will see the following information.
"Tools, information and resources are provided for students in grades Preschool through 3rd grade; 4th through 8th grade; and High School. Through interactive web-based tools, http://www.louisianapass.org, Reading Runway, students receive instructional feedback based on their responses and take tutorials in math, science or reading. For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
