Trey Altick Louisiana Prep Classic a success
Over this past weekend, 48 Louisiana High School baseball teams competed in the 2012 Trey Altick Louisiana Prep Classic.
"I thought everything ran very well even with the rain delay on Friday," Tournament Director Tim O'Neal said. "The highlight of the tournament was the Alticks who threw out a ceremonial first pitch at all 10 host fields."
The tournament took place at 10 host school sites. Those host sites were West Monroe, Ouachita, Neville, West Ouachita, OCS, St. Frederick, Sterlington, Ruston, Cedar Creek and Mangham.
With the success of this year's tournament, officials are beginning to plan for a possible expansion for the 2013 tournament.
"We hope to get the tournament to 50 teams next year, or possibly up to 55 by adding another host site," O'Neal said.
