St Frederick softball youthful, but hopeful The St. Frederick Lady Warriors had a little bad news and little good news in Tuesday's home softball contest with the Montgomery Tigers. The bad news was the Lady Warriors lost 16-0, but the good news is that may have found a pitcher in senior Kacie Jones. Jones entered the game in the second inning and struck out four batters and did not surrender a single run.
"We are a very young softball team," St. Frederick first year Head Coach Meagan Russell said. "We have a hand full of upper classmen, but the majority of our team is 8th graders, freshman and sophomores."
With only four players with softball experience, Russell's job is to mold the program from the ground up.
"Right now, we are going back to the basics and working on the fundamentals of the game," Russell said. "I believe that we will get better throughout the year."For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
