Alexander encourages art entries U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, is pleased to announce that the 2012 Congressional High School Arts Competition has officially begun. An Artistic Discovery, which began in 1982, is a nationwide art contest that provides Members of Congress the opportunity to display the creative work of local high school students.
Annually, each of the 435 Congressional Districts across the United States is given the opportunity to select one outstanding art piece to be hung in the Cannon House Office Building tunnel, where it will be exhibited alongside other district winners for one year. Thousands of people use this tunnel daily on their way to the U.S. Capitol Building and will have a chance to view the impressive artwork from high school students across the country. .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
