Monroe: Dems outnumber GOP 3 to 1 Voter registration has closed for the March 24 presidential primary and municipal elections in the city of Monroe and in the towns of Richwood and West Monroe.
Ouachita Parish voter registrar Christa Medaries said there have been some new additions to the voter rolls but not like in years past.
"It's slower than it has been," said Medaries. "Now, I expect the general election in the fall will really pick up. But it's not been overwhelming this time for the primary." The March 24 ballot will include the Democratic and Republican presidential primaries. Also, in Monroe voters will cast their ballots for mayor. Richwood and West Monroe will each hold elections for alderman. .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
