Accusations run rampant The race for Monroe mayor continues to heat up with candidates trading barbs on everything from the economy to questions of integrity.
Mayor Jamie Mayo is facing three challengers in his bid for a fourth term at the helm of Ouachita Parish's largest municipality. Retired physician Ray Armstrong and former Mayo administration official Johnny Riley each hopes to unseat Mayo when voters go to the polls in the March 24 primary.
Comic book store owner Clint Thomas also is making a bid to become Monroe's next mayor — Thomas's fifth attempt for the post.
