Employers in Louisiana face a tough battle to find employees qualified to work in today's economic climate.

That's the word from Jim Patterson, vice president of governmental relations for the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, or LABI.

Patterson delivered that assessment at the annual LABI legislative issues conference held Tuesday at the Monroe Civic Center.

Patterson said government and business are working together to expand existing industries and build new businesses.
