Ouachita students of the year chosen Ouachita Parish Schools recently announced the winners of the 2012 Ouachita Parish Students of the Year Awards program.
Three students were chosen from elementary, middle and high school levels. All of the students of the year from each of the three parish schools were recognized in a ceremony attended by students, parents, teachers, principals and community leaders.
The Student of the Year Awards program is a statewide competition for students in fifth, eighth, and twelfth grades. Students are first chosen at their respective schools through nomination and voting by fellow students. Then, the school representatives undergo an interviewing and testing process in competition for the top parish title. Once chosen at parish level, the students will again test and interview for regional and then state honors. .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
