Larry Foreman, head of special collections at Ouachita Public Library, will be the speaker at the February meeting of Northeast La. Genealogical & Historical Society.

The topic is "Early African-American Families of Ouachita Parish; Their History and Genealogies."

The meeting will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, in the Louis Locke Room of the main library branch in Monroe.

Guests are welcome.
