National signing day has come and gone and LSU has landed another crop of prep football talent.

So how did the class turn out ?

I'll have to get back to you in about three years on that, but if one was to compare Les Miles' collection of "paper tigers" this year to his signing classes of the past, there's no question it's a drop from what Baton Rouge has grown accustomed to.

Recruiting service Rivals.com ranks LSU's class at No.17, while ESPN ranks it 14th.Another recruiting Website, Scout.com, gives LSU a No.7 rank.

Do these rankings mean anything in the grand scheme of things? You better believe they do.
In 2009, when Miles addressed a rowdy crowd of nearly 3,000 at LSU's annual national signing day bonanza, the Bayou Bash, his opening remarks were, "This could be the next class that brings a championship to LSU."
