EDITOR'S NOTE: This is the final piece in a series of articles on the candidates for a seat on the West Monroe Board of Aldermen.

Johnny Carter says he's hoping to serve on the West Monroe Board of Aldermen so he can help build a community in which his granddaughter can grow and eventually live.

Carter is one of three candidates who is vying to fill an unexpired term on the Board of Aldermen. Carter, Staci Albritton and Marvin Dearman are the three candidates who hope to succeed Sam Yeager, an alderman who died last year.

Albritton has served in an interim capacity on the Board of Aldermen since being appointed to the board shortly after Yeager's death.
