Monroe City School Board member Rodney McFarland says the School Board should be prepared for a major change in the immediate future.

During a discussion about how many buses the system should purchase during the upcoming year, McFarland cautioned restraint and said the School Board might be buying buses it will not need.

That's because McFarland believes Neville High School is very likely to become a charter school in the immediate future.

"The handwriting is on the wall: a charter school is coming at Neville," McFarland said.
