Huenefelds unveil Millhaven North

A 725-acre tract of land in eastern Ouachita Parish could become the home of retail, business and light industrial development if the plans of one Ouachita Parish family come to fruition.

More than 250 guests turned out for the unveiling of Millhaven North, a business and retail park proposed by the Huenefeld family of Monroe.

Originally part of a large agricultural plantation, the land off Hwy. 594 near Ouachita High School has been a part of the Huenefeld family's real estate holdings for almost a century, according to family patriarch Fred Huenefeld.

Huenefeld credited his children, Frederick Huenefeld Jr. and Becky Harrod, with the vision to build Millhaven North, which is the second industrial site in the state that's certified as "shovel ready" by Louisiana Economic Development Corp.
