PJ to handle leadership assignments

The leadership at the Ouachita Parish Police Jury will undergo a bit of a shakeup in 2012 with two of the Police Jury's three committee chairmanships to change hands.

Police Jury President Shane Smiley said discussions are still ongoing about who will serve as chairman of the personnel committee, which oversees the Police Jury's employees and employment policies.

Meanwhile, Police Juror Walt Caldwell has agreed to take on the chairmanship of the finance committee, the group that works with Police Jury treasurer Brad Cammack to draft budgets and to keep an eye on parish finances.
