MDA plans fundraiser walk

On Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, from 9 a.m. until noon, area residents will converge at the ULM Activity Center to participate in the MDA Muscle Walk benefitting the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The family friendly, fun event is expected to raise more than $30,000 to help area residents with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle diseases.

"We're walking to help MDA fund worldwide research and to provide unparalleled health care services to people with muscle diseases," said Christina Griffin, MDA Fundraising Coordinator - Monroe. "Together, we'll take a victory lap at the ULM Activity Center to help local families for whom MDA is a singular beacon of help and hope."
