Safety Cab Offered During the Holidays
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Stay safe during the holiday season by taking advantage of Safety Cab, a program that offers free cab rides home. This year's Safety Cab is sponsored by St. Francis Medical Center, Glenwood Regional Medical Center, P & S Surgical Hospital and Marsala Beverage/Bud Light.

This community service is provided during the Christmas season to provide impaired drivers with a safe alternative to getting behind the wheel in order to prevent automobile accidents and injuries during the holidays. It is not intended to encourage people to not drink responsibly.

Transportation for Safety Cab is provided by Twin City Yellow Cab. Those needing a ride home can call the cab service at 322-3113. Free rides home will be offered from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m. daily beginning Friday, Dec. 16, 2011. Hours will be extended from 7 p.m. until 4 a.m. on New Year's Eve into New Year's Day.

Safety Cab will take people from a party or bar in Ouachita Parish to their home anywhere within the parish limits. The service will not take people to another party or bar.
