Officials in the City of West Monroe say that the findings highlighted in a recent external audit have been addressed and that the solutions should prevent similar problems in the future.

Last week, West Monroe released its official audit for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.
Among the findings cited by the accounting firm of Cameron, Hines and Hartt, were an employee theft at Kiroli Park, a lack of adequate inventory controls at the West Monroe Convention Center and delayed filing of a tax report with the Internal Revenue Service.

West Monroe Mayor Dave Norris said the audit contained few, if any, surprises.
"Most of the things that were included in the audit were things that we had discovered on our own and had corrected during the year," Norris said.
