State unemployment rate drops More Louisiana workers found jobs in November of this year than in the same period last year, according to statistics released this week by the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
The number of unemployed people looking for work fell to 140,690 in November. That was a drop of one-tenth of a percent from the October numbers, according to LWC executive director Curt Eysink.
"All indicators are moving in the right direction, as more people are working and fewer are unemployed," Eysink said. "Louisiana has been adding jobs for well over a year, spurred by growth in private sector employment."
