Court affirms sentence in 2008 double slaying

Lee Roy Odenbaugh's convictions for killing his wife and mother-in-law have been upheld by the Louisiana Supreme Court, paving the way for the state to execute Odenbaugh for the crimes.

Odenbaugh was convicted in 2008 in the shooting deaths of his wife and mother-in-law. He also was convicted of wounding his step-daughter. He received the death sentence for the two murders.

The shootings took place Dec. 2, 2006, in Morehouse Parish. Because of publicity surrounding the case, the trial was moved to Ouachita Parish.
