GSU in SWAC title game Grambling vs. Alabama A&M on ESPN U The Grambling State Tigers (7-4, 6-3) will take on Alabama A&M (8-3, 7-2) on December 10th at 12:00 p.m. in the 13th Southwestern Athletic Conference championship. The game will be televised on ESPNU live from Legion Field in Birmingham, AL.
The Tigers are looking for their 7th SWAC championship game title. The SWAC championship game will be the second time this season that Grambling and Alabama A&M have played.
In week 4, the Bulldogs got its first ever win over the Tigers 20-14. Grambling and Alabama A&M have played in more SWAC Football Championship Games more than any other two conference schools. The teams have faced each other three other times with the Tigers earning victories each time.
Grambling is making its record seventh appearance in the title game. Its only loss came in 2007 vs. Jackson State, 42-31. GSU avenged that loss in 2008 defeating JSU 41-9.For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
