Neville seeks State Title #10 There are three phases in football - offense, defense and special teams. If the Neville Tigers wanted to come out on top in Friday night's matchup against the Tigers of Breaux Bridge, they would have to come out on top in all three phases.
Neville succeeded in besting Breaux Bridge and were rewarded with a 16-7 victory and a trip to the big show, the LHSAA State Farm Prep Classic championship game in New Orleans.
For the Neville fans who made the trip to Breaux Bridge, they got to see something special, when the Neville players delivered their own rendition of "Olé, Olé, Olé!" in honor of senior kicker Ronaldo Guerriero.
The stress of making three field goals never entered the mind of the Braziian native. In fact, Guerriero was as cool as the December night air when asked about his preparations before each kick.
"I have never played American football before coming to Neville," Guerriero said. "I don't think about it, I just kick."For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
