For years, high school football coaches throughout the state often could be overheard saying something along this line - The road to the Superdome goes through Ouachita Parish.  

With the likes of West Monroe, Neville, Ouachita Parish High, Wossman, Ouachita Christian and Sterlington, area fans usually can look forward to seeing at least one local school represent the parish in a Louisiana High School Athletic Association state championship football game in the Superdome in New Orleans each December.

This year, local football squads have done something no other parish has done in the history of LHSAA championship football.
