OCS blasts Central Catholic - Eagles travels to Mangham in unbeaten showdown
The Ouachita Christian Eagles overcame an early setback on offense, and quickly rebounded en route to a 41-6 Class 1A quarterfinal playoff victory over Central Catholic at OCS this past Friday.
Just when it looked like OCS (13-0) would put the first points on the board with a drive down to the Central Catholic 6-yard line. OCS fumbled the ball to Central Catholic's Dontrell Brown who picked it up and raced to a 93-yard touchdown return. CCHS's extra point was no good and the Eagles from Morgan City held an early 6-0 lead with 7:17 remaining in the first quarter.
"That was not the best way to start the game," OCS head coach Steven Fitzhugh said. "Sometimes you're forced to handle adversity and that is exactly what our team did was handle the adversity and played on for the win."
Played on, they did: OCS responded with a 47-yard touchdown run by Braden Bristo to put OCS ahead, 7-6.
