West Monroe escapes - Rebels to host Mandeville in Semifinal
by Jimmy Touchet - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The West Monroe Rebels picked off four Barbe passes while two killing drives in the red zone, to escape with 21-12 quarterfinal road playoff victory.

Four times, the Barbe Bucs penetrated the Rebels red zone, coming away with zero points.

"Our playmakers made the plays that they needed to make," West Monroe head coach Don Shows said. "We got pressure on their quarterback and we covered their receivers well which created two key interceptions and a couple of failed field goals."

West Monroe built a 14-0 halftime lead behind a 17-yard touchdown run by Bubba Reeves and a seven-yard touchdown run by Connor Osborne.
