Twin Cities ring in holiday season

From ice skating to fireworks, the Twin Cities will offer up something for kids of all ages during the 4th Annual Christmas on the River celebrations, which kick off Nov. 26 with the flip of a switch.

At 4:30 p.m. that evening, the community will join elected officials and civic leaders from around the region to turn on the holiday lights in downtown West Monroe.

In addition to the Christmas lighting, visitors during the holiday season will be treated to a beauty pageant, an art show and an annual fireworks display, according to the holiday calendar provided by the Monroe/West Monroe Convention and Visitors Bureau.
