West Ridge students detail their blessings Students in Kathryn Hart's eighth-grade English classes at West Ridge Middle School wrote essays about what they are thankful for ahead of Thanksgiving. Excerpts of those essays are included here.
To begin with, my mother, Cindy Thompson, is magnificent, and she is a very special person in my life. She is a special person in my life because she understands anything I go through. Anything I tell her, she has also been through the same situation, which makes it easier. Another reason why I am grateful for her is because she places the food on my plate. My mother is an incredible cook, and anytime that I am starving, she will take care of it with an amazing meal! One more reason why I am thankful for my mother is because she has made me a better individual. She has helped me grow, and she has improved me as a young lady. What I am today is because of my loving mother. Although I do make mistakes in my life, I have her to go to for help. She is an outstanding woman who I love dearly, and she always puts a smile on my face! — Jordan Thompson •••For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
