ULM returner honored - Senior named Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Week

ULM speedster Luther Ambrose made his case for the top return man in the Sun Belt Conference this past Saturday as he returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown against FIU and in turn earned Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday morning.

The senior from St. James, La., leads the NCAA with four returns of over 50 yards and is tied for first in the nation with six returns of 40 yards or more despite not taking over the full-time kickoff return duties until ULM's fifth game of the season. His 31.5 yards-per-return average is the fourth-highest in the NCAA this season.

This is Ambrose's second Sun Belt honor this season. He was named the Special Teams Player of the Week earlier this year after returning the opening kickoff of ULM's game at North Texas 100 yards for a touchdown.
