Tech first in WAC - Dogs host N.M. State in final game The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs finally figured out how to beat the Nevada Wolf Pack with a 24-20 win at Mackay Stadium in Reno, NV.
It took them 59 minutes and 9 seconds, but finally the Bulldogs pulled out a close one to snap a six-game losing streak to Nevada.
With 51 seconds left to play, LA Tech quarterback Colby Cameron threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Taulib Ikharo pull the Bulldogs ahead 24-20 and gain first place in the WAC.
"It was a big win for us," said Tech head coach Sonny Dykes. "The way it unfolded and how we got down and hung in there, it was not easy. It happened because our guys worked hard, invested and believed in each other. This was a heck of a comeback. We had opportunities early but we couldn't make plays. Once we started rolling and starting making plays, we got the momentum. Our players wanted to win so badly. I'm so proud of them for what they did today."....................For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
