In the final three minutes of the game, River Oaks' Ryan MacGregor threw for a touchdown and had an interception that killed a Marshall Academy drive as the Mustangs defeated the Patriots, 28-22, to advance to the MAIS Division AA championship for a the second straight year.

River Oaks (10-3) started of the contest taking a commanding 22-8 lead before Marshall came charging back to tie the game, 22-22.

River Oaks responded, thanks to Slade Daniel blocking a punt that gave the Mustangs the ball on the Patriot 15-yard line.

MacGregor connected with tight end Jacob Little on a six-yard go-ahead touchdown pass with 2:13 left in the game. River Oaks went for the two-point conversion try but was unable to convert the two points that gave the Mustangs the 28-22 led...
